Hacıbaba Bakeries, which has introduced many different flavors to Türkiye, has completed a seven-story factory in Istanbul that will sweeten the world. A million-dollar investment has activated a new employment engine in Istanbul. Hacıbaba Bakeries Chairman Yılmaz Elaldı stated that they send desserts throughout Türkiye and are continuing negotiations for a franchise. Elaldı said, “This is our fifth year in Istanbul and our 36th year in Türkiye. We've invested heavily in Istanbul in the last two years, and our current goal is ambitious. After Istanbul, we hope to expand globally. We are in talks with three European countries, five Arab countries, and the Middle East. We will begin offering franchises on the Anatolian side of Istanbul first, and then we plan to expand globally, not just throughout Turkey.”
“We brought our masters from Diyarbakır to Istanbul”
Elaldı noted that they bring master craftsmen from Diyarbakır to Istanbul to create the same taste and products, adding that they sell original products without exorbitant prices. Elaldı said, “We established this factory in Istanbul. We're bringing our great master craftsmen from Diyarbakır here and producing the same taste and features in Istanbul. Today, I'm talking about all our products: they're not twice the price of the originals, but both affordable and high-quality. Our motto from the beginning has been 'the best at the cheapest.' The general consensus of our guests in Istanbul is, 'How can such products be at this price?' Of course, they're surprised to see desserts they've always seen for 150 to 200 TL here at a lower price.”
“We see ourselves as our own competitors.”
Noting that they see themselves as their own competitors again, Yılmaz Elaldı stated that they have a package service all over Türkiye. Elaldı said, “We don't know anyone; we see ourselves as our own competitors. Now, we have people from all over Türkiye asking for franchises. I thank them for choosing us. Despite their persistent requests, we can't reach every corner of the country right now, but we do deliver desserts to takeaways throughout Türkiye. For example, we have a slogan: When we say cold baklava, there's no place in Türkiye we haven't visited. Anyone who wants to try our cold baklava will come here. The original cold baklava is here. As you know, we started this place six months ago and finished it a month ago. It's a seven-story building. We've transformed it into a factory with a section on each floor. This is also the factory's sales area. Therefore, this is a good investment, and we've also begun to provide excellent service to the people here. This is the reaction of the people who come. We currently have nearly 120 employees here, and of course, as more sections are opened, the numbers will increase. We're not saying the investment is over; we still have many cities to invest in. Of course, Hacı Baba Patisserie will recruit employees from the surrounding neighborhoods and create jobs. "We provide this, and we also enliven every location we visit, transforming it into a marketplace. Thank God for establishing such a company.
